Simone Biles

Simone Biles is an American gymnast. Born on March 14, 1997 in Columbus Ohio U.S.A. The 2016 Olympics took place in Rio de Janeiro and Biles was the U.S.'s first female gymnast to win 4 gold medals. She also claimed the world title for all-around three times consecutively (2013-15). Biles is from Spring Texas. Her grandparents Ronald Biles (and her sister Adria) adopted them. The Biles family grew up in the metropolitan areas of Houston. Simone's fascination with gymnastics started at age six, during a trip with her day-care group to Bannon Gymnastix. Simone remained under Aimee Borman as coach from 2011. Biles earned a silver in vault in 2010 and also a bronze medal at the Women's Junior Olympic National Championships. Then she moved on to competitions at the elite level in 2011. Two years later, she was the most dominant athlete in the field. The thing that set Biles apart was the consistency of her fun-loving personality, as well as the level of effort she put into her routines throughout all four events--vault uneven bars balance beam and floor exercises.
