LeBron Raymone James Sr., born December 30, 1984, is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers (NBA). He is known for his role as King James and is considered as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. James has been awarded four NBA championships and four NBA MVPs, three All-Star MVPs and 2 Olympic medals. James has the highest points during the playoffs, the second most career points and has the seventh most career assists. James has 18 NBA All-Stars, 18 All-NBA Teams and Five NBA All-Defensive First Team selections. He was the third player to participate in NBA Finals. Eight of those were consecutive from the year 2011 until 2018. James was selected for part of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021. He was the very first NBA player to earn 10,000 points in his career. James played basketball at St. Vincent St. Mary High School in Akron in Ohio. He was hailed by media across the nation as the future NBA superstar. As a prep to pro it was it was the Cleveland Cavaliers chose him as the number one overall pick during the NBA draft of 2003. When he was named the 2004 NBA Rookie of the Year, he soon became a top player within the NBA winning the MVP award in both 2009 and 2010 for the NBA. in 2009 and 2010 James, who failed to win the championship in Cleveland in 2010, was released as a free agent and signed with his team the Miami Heat. This was made clear by the book The Decision. It is one of the most controversial decisions made by a player who was a free agent the history of sports.
