With her personal highlights so this year, such as being hand-picked by Snoop Dogg to accompany him on stage during the YouTube Brandcast in May 2013 Niykee has maintained a steady songwriting routine despite the ups and downs of recent times. Niykee is an enduring magnet to producers just getting started. A lot of beats she hears from producers spark song ideas. After just five seconds that I can determine if a particular beat is worthy of my time. After that, I get the idea of a song's whole concept within my head, and then I start to write. As I play my guitar outside on my porch the words begin to flow. A majority times, it's completed in just about 30 minutes. Niykee's pain from her past is a constant source of inspiration as she develops as a writer. It's difficult to escape memories that are painful from my childhood, and especially the loss of my sister. The memories end up getting included in her songs. This influences my music and helps to create this greater understanding behind all things that's one the most important things to me--I need to know that I could hear any of my songs 20 years down the road and be happy with what I had to say.
